Background
I
grew up in a family where art was important. My father, who was schooled in fine art, brought me as a child on excursions
to boat docks or parks, where he would share his artistic knowledge. Because I was also interested in mathematics
I decided to pursue an education in architecture, earning a Master of Architecture degree at The University of Florida. My
education included design theory, art and architectural history, which over the years have become important to me in understanding
how the masters saw the world and helped me to have a rich creative perspective.
After college,
I continued my career in architecture, including helping my husband create an architectural firm here in Orlando,
and working in commercial architectural design for several years with firms in the Orlando area. Over the recent
years I have decided to focus on a career in fine art, and I now have a private home studio in which I teach, and I pursue
shows and festivals to show and sell my art. I also have a passion for the performing arts and am pursuing opportunities
to put my knowledge of art, architecture and performing together to create theatre sets.
